His Place Church has partnered with The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) to provide practical and spiritual training for those interested and passionate about ministry. If you would like additional information, please visit:

The TUMI Capstone Curriculum is an instructor led education encompassing 16 modules (courses) that are designed to train servant leaders toward their calling and the practical application of their gifts. Modules are presented in four major tiers, each with four (4) modules, that have been identified as essential for effective ministry:

  1. Biblical Studies: Trains and equips students to rightly handle the word of God in understanding conversion, calling, biblical interpretation, and NT & OT witness.
  2. Theology and Ethics: Enables students to properly understand universal church doctrine regarding the kingdom of God and the triune God as he reveals himself in three distinct persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  3. Christian Ministry: Provides students the knowledge of Church theology, the fundamentals of practical ministry, and leadership within the Body of the Church.
  4. Urban Missions: Prepares students for the warfare they will experience in an urban setting, while training them in tools that keep them focused on the heart of missions work within their local communities.

Training offered through TUMI will directly meet the servant leader needs of your church by raising up biblical leaders who are fully equipped and competent for the work of ministry, increasing the impact of your church within your community. Church denominations such as EV Free and Church of God in Christ, along with the Urban Church Association of Los Angeles accept TUMI training as the educational basis for pastoral ordination. Schools such as Hope International University and Tabor University also grant credit toward their AA and BA degrees for completion of many TUMI courses. TUMI has set the bench-mark for pastoral training in urban ministry, and can be accepted as the touchstone of ministerial credentialing for your church or church system.
